Wards
Bloemcare has a total of 116 beds between 3 adult wards and 1 adolescent ward.
Ward A
Ward A has 26 beds and is situated on the ground level. Patients who require a higher level of care, elderly patients and those with impaired mobility are accommodated here.
Ward B
Ward B, with 42 beds, is located on the first floor. Male adults are mainly accommodated in this ward, which shares a dining room and recreational areas with patients in Ward A.
Ward C
Ward C, is a specialist adolescent unit with 8 beds known as pals@bloemcare, which stands for Positive Adolescent Life Skills. Secondary school learners between the ages of 12-18 are accommodated here.
Ward D
Ward D, with 40 beds, accommodates female adults and has its own separate dining room and recreational area.
Relaxing Garden
Bloemcare’s peaceful gardens, with ample seating, provide patients with a place for relaxation during free time or for receiving visitors.
A secluded semi-circle with a water feature, behind the dining room at Ward D, offers an ideal spot to spend some quiet time.
Gym
Daily sessions are offered by a qualified Biokineticist from 07h30 – 08h00 (Mon – Fri) and on Saturdays from 08h45 – 09h45. This forms part of the group therapy programme.
For patients who wish to exercise on their own, the gym is open in the evening from 17h30 – 18h30 (Mo – Thur) and 16h00 – 17h00 (Fri) with supervision.

Reading Room
Ward D has a reading room, exclusively for Bloemcare patients, where they can read in a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Books of a more fictional nature are available in the reading room.
Various reading material and DVD’s relating to psychiatric conditions are available from Ward A.
